Class Expectations
During this semester, I know there will be many struggles getting used to college. However, I will work hard to get used to the new environment and do well in all my classes, including CARD 101. I will block out time to work or study for CARD 101. I will review the assignments and write them down on the date they are due. I will also use my resources. In brief, I plan to work hard to make sure I am successful in CARD 101 and learn to be a better writer.
As I mentioned above, I will make time for CARD class in my schedule. Each class will have a set amount of time to study for each week. Depending on test or workload classes might need more or less time but the goal is I give every class equal work time. For example, on 8/29/2023 there is a CARD class quiz. Which means I might give more time to study for CARD 101 than Psychology which has fewer work and assignments. But in later weeks when Psychology has a test, I will give it the same amount of work time. Taking time on each class is important but so is knowing what needs to be done.
This leads me to my second goal, writing down and reviewing assignments. Nothing is scarier than walking into a class and realizing you forgot to do an assignment, that might be a bit of an exaggeration. However, I find it scary either way. To avoid that I will write down my assignments for when they are due. I will also check my work to make sure I am reflecting my best self on each assignment. I will also make sure to confer with others about assignments or ask for help.
Lastly, I will use the help I am given the best I can. There are so many support systems at North Central College. Whether it is friends, family, professors, success coaches, athletic coaches, or more, there are people out there ready to support me through each step. It is important to learn how to exist on my own but not forget that if things seem too challenging there are people to help me out. I will try my hardest during this semester to grow as a person and hopefully be ready to help others as well.
