Documentary Project
The documentary Born Into Brothels was a very emotional movie. There were many scenes that got to me. One of them being when a kid said, "One has to except life as being sad and painful and that's that". That went straight into her being harassed and called horrible things from her mother. The girl was a sweet, soft-spoken, loving child. It was really hard to see her reality of the world.
Although, on the flip side, it was promising to see her still so positive. That goes into what surprised me most, I believe seeing the kids so happy and laughing all the time is what shocked me most. To be in such a tough situation, they recognized this is life and they can still have a good time in it. Seeing them have an opportunity was very heartwarming. I think facts could mess up the emotion and impact of the film. if we do too much research on it, we might get buried in it.
Lastly, I still feel sad for the kids in the documentary even if most of them got a chance. I think all children deserve good lives and chances to grow. Them having the opportunity to was good but still very hard to see. And knowing that not all children were given the same chances too was very sad to see. At the end of the day, kids are kids and one day have a better life.
